“From zero to NVIVO” online course
“Excellent course for individuals new to NVivo! The instructor, Jarek, is very responsive to questions and comments.”
“Dr Kriukow provides easy-to-follow explanations, at a pace that is comfortable. He also supplies the data set which is very helpful. As someone completely new to Nvivo, this course is proving very helpful so far.”
I know that NVivo may appear very complex at first. There are also only a few comprehensive resources for learning to use it. Because of this, I have created an online Nvivo course “From Zero to NVivo”!
You can find the full course HERE.
More about the course
In this course, I aim to pass on my extensive NVivo expertise to you. I don’t make empty promises – I guarantee that you will be able to use this software to conduct professional Qualitative data analysis once you complete the course!
The ability to use data analysis software is among the top requirements for research-related jobs. I have experienced this first hand – I have worked as a researcher for a number of top universities (e.g. Oxford and Edinburgh) and participated in large-scale studies funded by organisations such as the British Council and Erasmus. Having used this software in a number of projects I have been involved in, I cannot imagine conducting professional Qualitative data analysis without it – it will not only enable you to save a lot of time but also to take your project to a completely new level.
The best thing about this is that it is not nearly as complex as most people think it is – I was shocked when I found out what you can do with your data with literally just a few clicks! Once you understand the general layout of NVivo and the ways the software works (and I will make sure that you do!), you will soon be surprised with how your own analytical thinking transforms and how you start thinking of your data in terms of these new tools.
Whether you are completely new to NVivo or have some previous experience with it, you will find something for you in this course. You DO NOT need your own data to take this course – I provide a sample data set on which we will be working together. We will import our data from this data set and will gradually develop our project based on this data. I made sure that all the lessons are nicely connected – the analytic ideas that emerge, for example, early in the course when we record our initial thoughts will be later tested when we learn to code and conduct various coding queries. This is what I personally believe makes this course so great – the fact that it’s not just a random collection of out-of-context videos, but rather a reflection of an analytic journey that you are likely to experience in your own research studies.
What knowledge & tools are required?
- You should have NVivo 10 or 11 installed on your computer
- NO previous knowledge of NVivo is required
- NO data set is required (you will be provided with a sample data set to work with)
Who should take this course?
